Canine VaccinesProtect your dog from disease by keeping their vaccines current. RabiesRabies is transmitted by the rabies virus, which enters the body through a break in the skin, after a bite from an infected animal. It is almost always fatal. Rabies is contagious to all mammals, including humans. It is a very serious disease and should never be taken lightly. That's why there is so much emphasis on rabies vaccinations. The law requires dogs to be current on rabies vaccination. DHPP
Bordetella - Kennel CoughAn infection caused by the Bordetella bacterium and the parainfluenza virus. The disease, also known as infectious tracheobronchitis, is characterized by a continual honking bronchial cough. It is transmitted when an infected dog coughs and infective particles are inhaled by other dogs. As the name implies, it can be easily transmitted in a kennel where many dogs are present. LeptospirosisThis is a very serious bacterial disease infecting the kidneys and/or liver. It is shed in the urine of domestic and wild animals and spread through water contaminated with infected urine. The bacteria penetrate mucous membranes or abraded skin and multiply rapidly upon entering the blood system. It is more common in rural areas and is marked by a high fever and yellow or icteric-colored gums. It can cause permanent kidney damage and can be fatal if untreated. The infection can be spread to humans.
